International Consulting Group is seeking senior specialists in small business banking to deliver consulting services and technical assistance to commercial banks and other financial institutions in Romania and the region. These contract-based senior consultants will assist our clients to improve their ability to serve Micro and SME customers. Implementation is a key focus of our work and consultants will generally support credit risk, training and sales departments. Areas of expertise include micro and SME financing, risk management, product development, problem loan management, loan monitoring and restructuring.

Responsibilities

Senior consultants will be contracted for short- or long-term projects working on-site with partner financial institutions to develop, expand and/or strengthen financing programs for small businesses.

Responsibilities may include:
 Delivering training and mentoring programs in lending methodologies and marketing tactics for micro and small businesses;
 Working with partner financial institutions’ management, credit and risk staff to develop bank procedures, restructuring clients, etc.;
 Implementing process improvements and new systems for more efficient lending and effective loan portfolio management;
 Portfolio management, including growth strategies, work-outs and ALM;
 Project management including consultant and budget management, planning and reporting.

Contract senior consultant may be chosen as a Project Manager or will work with senior team leaders who are also tasked with mentoring consultants. Future international assignments are possible for the qualified consultant.

Qualifications

Essential qualifications for these positions include:
 Proven project management and consulting skills;
 Strong product development or credit skills (five or more years experience in small business or commercial lending, credit analysis or leasing is compulsory);
 Client and relationship management skills with ability to interact with senior management;
 Strong communication English and Romanian skills, both written and verbal (French is a plus);
 Training and Coaching skills.

In addition, applicants should have:
 University degree in an economic or financial discipline;
 Extensive banking or consulting firm experience;
 Highly developed interpersonal skills;
 The ability to work independently, create and execute work plans, and motivate others to achieve objectives;
 Flexibility with respect to time and travel requirements;
 Willingness to work on project based periods.
